In the 70’s XOMOX developed a complete product line of soft and metal seated XOMOX High Performance Butterfly Valves (HPBV) for severe service applications in numerous industries. Very high temperatures and inflammable media are some typical application fields for those outstanding valves.

As reliable shutoff and throttling devices they meet all requirements of today’s highly specialized industries.

XOMOX’s delivery program in the metal butterfly valve market comprises two different butterfly series (type 800 and type 600) that vary as to their applications, nominal sizes, pressure classes and material specifications.

An axially pliant seat represents the new design feature of this double eccentric HPBV achieving absolute tightness and minimized operating torques even under heavy valve cycle operation and high working pressures.

The disc is specially contoured to provide high flow capacity. The sealing surface is spherical. The disc arrangement is double eccentric, that means

• 1 x Offset from seat centerline

• 1 x Offset from valve centerline

The design feature provides three important design benefits:

• 360° sealing seat area for maximal safety

• Extended service life of seat due to early disengagement of the disc from the seat

• Significantly reduced torque figures compared to conventional butterfly valve designs
