The design and sealing principle of the TUFLIN® 3-way plug valve is based on the proven 2-way plug valve design. All configurations are suitable for more flexible and complex piping systems and applications.Typical applications of multiport plug valves:

  • as changeover valves for pressure relief duties

  • for by-pass or mixing operation purposes

  • as switchover valves for filtration circuits

  • in the pulp and paper industry

  • in filtration or drying plants

 

Design Features and Benefits

 

These valves are suitable for multiple applications
due to the wide range of available multiport configurations and plug port arrangements,

  • Third way in vertical direction

  • Third way in horizontal direction

Different plug port arrangements enable numerous
paths of the fluid flow (see diagram).

Valve Designs

 

TUFLIN® 3-way plug valves can be supplied with:

  • Screwed ends up to DN 50 / NPS 2 (Whitworth R or NPT)

  • Weld ends (butt weld or socket weld)

  • Flanged ends

Materials

 

As standard, TUFLIN® 3-way plug valves are delivered in ductile iron, carbon steel and a variety of stainless steel materials.

Other special materials like Argonit®, alloy 20, monel, nickel, hastelloy B and C, titanium stellite, zirconium, inconel are available upon special request.

As standard, all sleeves are made of pure PTFE (no regenerate), also PTFE fiberglass reinforced sleeves as well as TFM sleeves are available upon request.

Standard plug material: Stainless steel (1.4408).

  • 173 K to 553 K (- 100 °C to + 280 °C)
